The Modern Age

By Abhinav Ram

I live in the age of Facebook where love seems to be lost,
Barney makes you feel, Love at no cost..

where time runs in you tube & bufferings,
there remains no moments of little sufferings,

scared by our parents endeavours in marriage,
we have lost all faith in it's reason and adage,

drinking some coffee and spilling some tea
dating like crazy, all meaning we foresee...

from dawn to dusk we juggle with our phones,
moving to places in these digital zones..

DP is how we identify their soul,
what happened to the notion that eyes are the doors?

chirping of birdies is no more being heard,
punk rock and rapping? how better than bird??

Standing in morning and look at the sun?
how can we do that we got drunk and had fun..

teardrops are smilies :'(
wiped by none...
oh my lord, why can't I run?

my wallpapers a lion..cause they are long lost..
how long it takes for a winter to frost?

globe has gone warming... but we want it cool..
warmth lost from love, aren't we a fool...

final frontier we conquer, it is the space,
but tell me why, life is a race?

no time we got to play with the ball,
dress up and we have to rush to the mall,

Why can't I see her and let silence speak?
why does life has to be so bleak & so meek?

we keep on fighting, blowing in bombs..
what is it for? men or some tombs

some men in suits blow up a nation..
and they call it war, needs termination

A salute to this modern age we were born in....
A salute to this modern age we will be torn in....
